One legged Crawl

Reynolds has been a little behind in learning how to crawl. I have considered it a blessing where his Daddy has been a little disappointed. It has been fun to watch him figure it out. I really wish I would have gotten video of all his different crawls but I did get is one legged crawl. The best was when he used his head for his hands and his butt was in the air. It looked like it was trying for a somersault. Another good one was when he would leap from his legs. Good job Reynolds its about time.

I think it's a keeper

After much help from my sister-in-law Erin, I decided to go with chocolate on the walls that touch the blue. I really like it in person but these pictures make it look kind of bad. Maybe I'm delusional or maybe it's just the lighting. Anyway I have a few more things to do before this project is finished so stay tuned. Thanks Erin for all your help with the colors. And thanks Jessica for doing all my edges and having your kids entertain mine.

Painting Project

Andrew and I are not the "project" kind of people. In fact we are lucky just to keep our grass mowed and the house clean. We have been talking about painting our house ever since we moved in. The previous owners did a lovey job painting and most people would prefer their choice of colors over mine but I wanted to personalize my house with my style. After much talk it was actually Andrew with the motivation that we finally got it done. What do you think? Not sure I got the right blue and I definitely need to find some different accent colors since one of mine used to be blue. Any ideas?

Before (this is the only picture I could find)

finished Product
How much I like it is yet to be determined. Regardless I'm so proud of us that we did a project and didn't just waste another Saturday. We had a little help from Andrew's mom but overall we did it. We both were about to quit when we saw all the detail work that needed to be done but we stuck it out and finished. Now what color to paint the next room? Last night I had dreams I was painting it yellow but my dream was all weird cause I remember painting the couch.

Free Day at the Zoo

The Denver Zoo was having a free day so Andrew took they day off and we made the trek across town to enjoy a day together. We have only been there once before when our friends, the Dunns, came into town. It was a nightmare getting there but that is a whole different story. This time we decided to drive instead of taking public transportation. Needless to say it was very uneventful besides really bad traffic on the way home. Here are some pictures from the day. All the pictures I got with the animals didn't turn out but we really were at the Zoo.

Tag: 6 Quirks

I was tagged by Megan. Here are the rules: Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours. Tag 6 fellow bloggers by linking them. Leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger’s blogs letting them know they’ve been tagged. I will not be tagging anybody but if anyone would like to do this it would be fun to read about.

1. I HATE METAL. I don't know why but it grosses me out. There is something about the cold feeling that makes me queasy. I can't wear jewelry for this very purpose. I have learned to just deal with my wedding ring but even that can be hard. I HATE CHANGE. I cannot hold it in my hand it literally makes me sick. I have been known to throw change away if I find it when I'm cleaning. I will get a piece of paper and scoop it up and chuck it in the garbage. I think I might have a phobia.

2. The only beverage I drink is water. I don't have time to sip water all day so my habit is I usually go to the sink at least 8 times a day and chug a glass of water. For some reason I always leave a little amount in the cup. Maybe I just can't drink it all but Andrew always points out it was my cup if it has a little water left in it.

3. I can't stand grease and greasy hands. I hate it when my husband tries to touch me and I can feel that his hands haven't been washed. I'm constantly "washing" my hands but the quirky thing is that I only use soap when my hands are unsanitary and I never dry them. I always make a point touch the hand towel but never actually use it to dry my hands. Who has time to sit and dry them anyway? The air will eventually get the job done.

4. This is no surprise to anybody that knows me or attempts to read this blog. I am phonetically disabled. Also I like to use words completely out of context and I'm the master at ruining all common one liners.

5. I cannot touch my face with my bare hands nor do I like anybody else to do it. When I pop zits I have to use toilet paper under my fingers and if I put my hand under my chin I have to pull my sleeve over my hand. Occasionally I try to get over this and let my husband caress my face but the truth of the matter is once I do all I can think about is how I need to go wash my face off.

6. I hate to ask for help. Unfortunately if I really need or really want it I feel so awkward to ask that I usually find some annoying way to beat around the bush. I'm really working on just coming straight out and asking.
